The Everlys had always maintained strong ties to country in their vocal style, and their late '50s album Songs Our Daddy Taught Us could even be considered a country record if you stretched things (though it might be more appropriately classified as a folk disc). The Everlys weren't the only early rock'n'roll stars to dabble in country.
